Modu operates as a Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform, providing fintech services in partnership with Bank RBK JSC (License No. 1.2.100/245/41, issued on June 5, 2021, by the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market – AFRDFM). Our platform integrates with the bank’s systems, allowing entrepreneurs to access financial services through a single interface.
Services offered by Modu in Kazakhstan are provided under RBK Bank’s licenses via an Agency Agreement, and all accounts and transactions are opened through the licensed bank. Customer funds are protected by the state deposit insurance fund.

Nevertheless, Modu is pursuing its own licenses from AFRDFM, which will include the following:

• Payment Organization License for Modu Payments
• Microfinance Organization (MFO) License for Modu Finance

These licenses will give Modu greater operational flexibility in specific service areas.
